Cleveland Cavaliers 96-86 New York Knicks

Cleveland Cavaliers outscored the Knicks 26-17 in the fourth quarter and beat them 98-86 for their fourth straight win. The Cavs didn’t have their same ball movement, and they fell behind 15 in the first quarter before finding their groove in the second half, outscoring New York 58-40.

James scored 23 points, 11 in the fourth quarter. Frustrated with his shot in the first half, he ripped the sleeves on Cleveland’s new, black jerseys. “I was just frustrated with myself, I was just off rhythm a lot tonight, and the jersey was the only thing I could go to,” James said. “I couldn’t do nothing to my face.”

LeBron James is just 2 of 18 this season on 3-pointers, but he’s not worried about his long shot just yet. “I’m just out of rhythm. I’ve got to work on it. It’s not like I’m Steph Curry or J.J. Reddick anyway. But I did hit a big one tonight so I just got to get some reps,” he said.

Mo Williams had 22, Love added 11 with 12 rebounds and Thompson added 10 with 13 rebounds for Cavaliers.

Carmelo Anthony, who had 17 points, a close friend of James’, empathized with James’ actions.

“It was a little tight,” Anthony said. “A little tight, probably was restricting his shot a little bit.”

Rookie Kristaps Porzingis added 13 for the Knicks.

Dwight Howard and Harden made back-to-back layups to get things going for Houston in overtime and make it 114-110. Evan Fournier made a basket for Orlando before a three-point play by Harden pushed the lead to 117-112. It was Houston’s second straight win after a 0-3 start and the Magic’s fourth loss of five points or less this season, and second in overtime.

Harden scored 28 points, including seven in overtime, 6 of 22 from field, his fourth game this season where he shot less than 30 percent.

“James will be OK,” coach Kevin McHale said. “He will be fine. The shot will be fine, the shot will come … I’m not worried about it too much.”

Howard had 23 points and 14 rebounds. He was 10 for 10 to become the first Rocket to make 10 or more field goals without a miss since Yao Ming was 12 for 12 in 2009. Trevor Ariza scored 19 points with four 3-pointers.

Fournier led the Magic with 29 points and four assists. “We should have won the game,” Fournier said. “We have to get mentally stronger and have to close out a game like that.”

Gordon finished with 19 points and eight rebounds and Victor Oladipo had 18 points and seven rebounds.
