The 30-year-old Brazilian international is joining the San Siro club in a €15 million deal that ends his four-year spell at the Vicente Calderon. He will reportedly sign a three-year deal worth €2.7m (£1.9m) a season with the San Siro outfit and should be given holiday leave until July 18 after completing his transfer.

Miranda joins Geoffrey Kondogbia as the latest high-profile summer signing for Roberto Mancini’s men.

He moved to Atletico from Sao Paulo ahead of the 2011-2012 season and has collected La Liga and Copa del Rey medals during his time at Vicente Calderon, as well as being part of the team that reached the 2014 UEFA Champions League final. Miranda recently returned from the Copa America with Brazil, who reached the quarter-finals in Chile before losing on penalties to Paraguay.

According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan will turn their attention to signing Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado after missing out on his club-mate Mohamed Salah. The report claims Inter will make a loan bid for Cuadrado, with a mandatory option to buy him next summer.
