Pistons beat Cavaliers 115-94 in NBA Playoffs road win

Detroit went to Cleveland and came away with a commanding 115-94 win in the Eastern Conference semifinals, powered by efficient shooting and a deep bench. In front of 19,432 fans at Rocket Arena, the Pistons shot 52% from the field and dropped 16 threes, while holding the Cavaliers to 39% overall. Detroit led for 38:12 and stretched the margin to as many as 22 in the fourth.
Shooting gap tells the story
Cleveland started brighter and briefly controlled the first quarter, but Detroit’s shot profile took over from the second period on. The Pistons finished 43/82 from the field and 16/36 from three, compared to the Cavaliers’ 30/77 and 12/35. Even with a 22/30 night at the line, Cleveland couldn’t offset the gap inside (27 Pistons two-pointers vs 18 for the Cavs) and from deep.
Bench punch and balance
Detroit’s depth shifted the game. Paul Reed delivered 17 points on 7/9 shooting with 6 rebounds, while Duncan Robinson hit four threes for 14 points. Marcus Sasser added timely buckets on 4/5 shooting and a game-best +27 plus-minus. The visitors also won the assist battle 25-15 and protected the rim with 6 blocks.
Cavs’ effort on the glass, turnovers bite
Cleveland worked the offensive boards for 16 second-chance rebounds, Jarrett Allen grabbing seven of them en route to 13 points and 8 rebounds. But 20 Cavaliers turnovers slowed any comeback push, and their half-court offense faded after halftime. Max Strus collected 8 rebounds, while Sam Merrill chipped in 10 points off the bench, yet the hosts shot 25% in the third quarter and never found sustained rhythm.
