#design(ed) for greatness

.debug, one of the largest development conferences in the Balkan region, continues to push the boundaries of innovation. This year, the conference featured an exciting addition: the new, sixth track – #design track powered by Sofascore, focusing on design in development production.
In today’s fast-paced technological landscape, the synergy between design and development is more important than ever. Great design is not just about aesthetics, it is about creating user-friendly interfaces that enhance the overall user experience. At .debug, the sessions within the design track explored various aspects of this integration, emphasising how thoughtful design can impact the success of development projects.
‘’As a platform that recently went through a process of redesign, we knew how important design is for digital product, so it was natural to extend our collaboration with .debug. In the process of building a digital product, development can’t go without designers – it is a synergy we wanted to transform to this conference primarily focused on developing.’’
Zlatko Hrkać, CEO Sofascore

One of the key themes discussed at design track was the importance of user-centred design. Developers and designers must work closely to understand user needs and preferences. By integrating user feedback into the design process, teams can create products that are not only functional but also delightful to use.
Looking ahead, the design track at .debug also explored upcoming trends and technologies that are shaping the future of design in development. Topics included the rise of AI and machine learning in design, the impact of virtual and augmented reality, and the growing importance of sustainability in design choices.

Throughout two days, 16 inspiring lectures attracted an impressive audience interested in topics such as brand strategy, creative direction, generative art, production, copywriting, typeface design, industrial design, user experience, and many other disciplines within the design domain.

Outside the design track itself, we made a strong presence throughout the conference. Two of our colleagues, Anton Radačić & Lucija Šikić gave lectures at #deeplearning track, Marin Krstičević won the audience over on the #design track, and our Chief Product Officer Marijan Živić added a fun twist to his #devslife talk on product management by playing the tambourine.
Sofascore stand was, as always, the MVP of the event, attracting visitors interested in trying to win valuable Sofascore merch and/or just refreshing at our bar. We’re already gearing up for the next match!
