Champions League Fantasy Picks Round 4: Best budget-friendly players

As we all know, the Champions League every season boasts a plethora of the world’s biggest footballing names, essentially concentrating all of the superstars into one competition.

Consequently, sometimes it can be quite difficult picking a Sofascore Champions League Fantasy squad when there’s such an overwhelming amount of great players to choose from. That’s why we’ve decided to highlight the best budget-friendly and cheap players for Round 4, providing you with the financial flexibility you need.

Formation: 4-4-2

Matěj Kovář (Olympiacos vs PSV) – €4.1M

At only €4.1 million, the Czech goalkeeper is an absolute bargain. While goalkeepers tend to be the “cheapest” position, Kovář is as budget-friendly as you can get, even in the context of his positional standards. Another massive advantage that Kovář has in comparison to other keepers is that PSV travel to Piraeus for Round 4, playing a side that has only found the net once in the first 3 rounds.

On the other hand, PSV is on fire! The Dutch absolutely destroyed Napoli in Round 3, and look to be in fine form for another three points in Greece.

Matej Kovar
PSV

Renato Veiga (Pafos vs Villarreal) – €5.1M

The young Portuguese defender has adapted well to life in Spain, already playing a crucial role in Villarreal’s brilliant form in LaLiga. In the Champions League, Renato Veiga has already picked up 13 Sofascore Fantasy points and a goal, scoring against his former club Juventus in Round 2. Priced at only €5.1 million, Veiga is a great pick in defense.

Round 4 should be Villarreal’s time to pick up a first win in this Champions League campaign, traveling to the other side of Europe in a match-up against Cypriot champions Pafos.

Renato Veiga
Villarreal

Kevin Danso (Tottenham vs København) – €5.5M

Despite a slower start to the season for Kevin Danso after returning from a very successful individual loan stint in Lens, the Austrian centre-back seems to have solidified his spot in Thomas Frank’s starting XI. Danso started every game for Tottenham in October, and he’ll definitely be looking to translate that solid form into November

At only €5.5 million, and Tottenham playing against underdogs København at home, Kevin Danso is a smart pick, seeking to assure Spurs’ third clean sheet in the Champions League thus far.

Kevin Danso
Tottenham

Micky van de Ven (Tottenham vs København) – €6.0M

It would only be right to pair up Kevin Danso with a familiar face. Micky van de Ven is absolutely world-class, picking up 30 Sofascore Fantasy points in 3 rounds of Champions League football. Not only are his defensive capabilities on par with any other centre-back in world football, but the Dutchman has a nose for goal, already scoring 4 goals in Europe and domestically.

He might be looking for yet another clean sheet and his second goal in the Champions League against København on Tuesday. His €6 million price makes him a must-have in your Fantasy squad.

Micky van de Ven

Leonardo Spinazzola (Napoli vs Frankfurt) – €5.5M

Rounding up the defense, we’ve selected Leonardo Spinazzola at left-back. We all remember his dazzling performances with Italy in Euro 2020 (2021), abruptly ending after rupturing his Achilles tendon against Belgium in the quarter-finals. After evidently taking quite a while to get back to his old self, Spinazzola is looking better than ever.

He’s still causing havoc on the left with his runs and crosses in attack, with 4 assists and 1 goal in all competitions in 2025/26. The Neopolitans will be looking to bounce back in Round 4 after a humiliating 6-2 defeat against PSV. Spinazzola is a great shout, at only €5.5 million.

Leonardo Spinazzola

Ismael Saibari (Olympiacos vs PSV) – €5.5M

Speaking of PSV (sorry Leonardo), we’re commencing our midfield line with one of the most in-form players in Europe. There’s a Moroccan madman in Eindhoven, and he goes by the name of Ismael Saibari. 8 goals and 1 assist in all competitions thus far for the Dutch Champions, highlighted by his phenomenal hat-trick and 9.9 Sofascore rating performance against Feyenoord on the 26th of October.

Not to mention two back-to-back goals in the Champions League, scoring against Napoli and Leverkusen. At only €5.5 million and PSV playing Olympiacos in Round 4, Saibari is a brilliant pick.

Ismael Saibari

Fermín López (Club Brugge vs Barcelona) – €6.1M

While Saibari’s 9.9 performance against Feyenoord was as close to perfection as you can get, Fermín López knows how it feels to get a 10, and in the Champions League as well. Round 3 against Olympiacos is a night he’ll never forget, scoring his first professional hat-trick, and more importantly, receiving his first Sofascore 10.

He’s probably Barcelona’s most in-form player right now, also scoring in the El Clásico a few days later. With Pedri adding to the list of injuries Flick has to deal with, López will look to step up in Belgium against Club Brugge in Round 4. Highly motivated and very affordable at only €6.1 million.

Fermin Lopez
Barcelona

Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham vs København) – €7.0M

Now we move on to Tottenham’s third and the most “expensive” pick of the bunch, still coming in at a cheap €7 million for an attacking midfielder and winger. Mohammed Kudus is everything you want in that position of the field, technically brilliant and a fantastic dribbler, not to mention his insane pace. He’d probably be the first to tell you that he expects way more of himself this season, which is exactly why Round 4 against København at home is a fantastic opportunity to get the ball rolling.

In the Premier League, he’s got a goal and 4 assists in 9 appearances, while the Champions League has been a tougher battle. There’s not much analysis to be made other than having to put in a big performance against the underdogs from Denmark to get the ball rolling, literally and figuratively.

Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham

Alberto Moleiro (Pafos vs Villarreal) – €5.0M

Rounding up the midfield, we have our second Villarreal player in Spanish winger Alberto Moleiro. While yet to prove himself in the Champions League, Moleiro has had a few standout performances in LaLiga. More concretely, an 8.4 Sofascore rating this past weekend against Rayo, with a goal and an assist, as well as 8.1 and 8.0 ratings against Betis and Athletic Bilbao, respectively.

Villarreal’s relatively easy opposition in Round 4, and a price of only €5 million, are obviously the two most significant factors in selecting Moleiro as one of our picks. The Yellow Submarine needs to start picking up points quickly if they plan on surviving to see spring in Europe, and an away day in Cyprus is the perfect kick-starter.

Alberto Moleiro
Villarreal

Igor Paixão (Marseille vs Atalanta) – €5.8M

Unlike Moleiro, Paixão has the complete opposite run of form; absolutely on fire in Europe while struggling in Ligue 1. In rounds 2 and 3, the Brazilian up front scored three times and managed to get an assist, in his 8.1 and 9.6 Sofascore performances against Sporting and Ajax. On the other hand, his last three matches in Ligue 1 have been underwhelming, to say the least.

Marseille’s form, as a whole, has slightly dipped, but they await a very strange Atalanta. Struggling to pick up a win, Ivan Jurić’s side last picked up three points on the 30th of September. It’s been five draws and a loss against Udinese on the weekend ever since. They won’t be feeling optimistic traveling to Marseille, especially if Paixão decides to turn up again.

Igor Paixao
Marseille

Jens Petter Hauge (Bodø/Glimt vs Monaco) – €5.8M

Bodø/Glimt might be arguably the most likable side in European football, unless you have to play them away. Last year’s Europa League ‘hit’ team has shown yet again why ‘away at Bodø’ is a nightmare for all. The former Eintracht Frankfurt and Milan player Jens Petter Hauge has been crucial to the Norwegian side’s recent success, both domestically and in Europe.

Against Tottenham in Round 2, Hauge was the first player to receive a Sofascore perfect 10 in this Champions League campaign, with two goals in Bodø’s hard-earned draw. Will Tuesday, the 2nd of November 2025, be a historic date for Norwegian football as Bodø/Glimt could become their first club to pick up three points in the Champions League?
