NBA Eastern Conference Week 2 Review

In the span of just seven days, new league leaders have emerged across both conferences in the East and the West. This just goes on to highlight how competitive things can be in the NBA 2025-26 season. The Philadelphia 76ers went 3-1 in Week 2 as they surpassed the Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference standings. Matches in week 2 were all about dramatic comebacks, plenty of upsets, and big players rising to the occasion.

Key Match Summaries

After trailing Chicago in week 1, the 76ers upped the ante this week as they lost just once, in the NBA Cup Group stage clash to the Boston Celtics. Apart from the 1-point loss, Nick Nurse saw his team ease past the Orlando Magic before they defeated the Washington Wizards. Another easy victory over the Brooklyn Nets helped them to the top spot.

After picking up three consecutive wins in Week 2, the Bulls saw their winning streak end in a painful manner. After overcoming the Atlanta Hawks, Billy Donovan’s men won against the Sacramento Kings, and they tamed the New York Knicks in the NBA Cup group stage clash. However, in a rematch at the Knicks’ home, OG Anunoby registered 26 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists to get instant revenge.

Giannis Antetokounmpo inspired the Milwaukee Bucks past the Knicks, before Ryan Rollins took down the Golden State Warriors. However, Doc Rivers couldn’t save his side from losing to the Kings by a mere two points.

It was a memorable past week for the Detroit Pistons as they breezed past the Orlando Magic, thanks to Cade Cunningham’s inspirational performance. J.B. Bickerstaff’s side won against the Dallas Mavericks with Jalen Duren scoring 33 points.
