Man City forward Sergio Aguero is the subject of a police probe following an incident during the Manchester club’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus had cancelled out Charlie Daniel’s wonder strike to send the game into injury time with the scores level at 1-1.
Aguero and Raheem Sterling both came on as substitutes and the latter caused quite a frenzy with his winning goal seven minutes into added time.
Enthusiastic fans surged over the hoardings to celebrate with their team, forcing police and stewards to intervene in order to avoid an insecurity situation.

Aguero and co., however, were only too willing to oblige the fans with their moment of joy, and several players were manhandled by the security personnel as the situation threatened to spiral out of control.

It was during the melee that the striker is accused of hitting a steward, perhaps having deemed him to have used excessive force to thwart a celebrating fan.
Another account suggests that Aguero pushed the steward into the unruly crowd, putting him at risk.
“An allegation has been made by a steward that he was assaulted by Sergio Aguero and the Police have taken a statement,” a Bournemouth spokesman told the Sun.
A separate statement from Dorset police confirmed that two men had been arrested, and that further scrutiny was ongoing to determine if there were any other offenders.
“Officers are reviewing CCTV of the pitch encroachment as part of an on-going investigation to establish whether any other offences may have been committed,” said the statement.

“This investigation is in the very early stages and if any further actions need to be taken, this will happen in due course.”
Aguero: I didn’t hit anyone
The City forward has nonetheless denied the claim against him, asserting that video footage from the incident clears him of any wrongdoing.
“Great win today!” he soon afterwards wrote on his official Twitter. “On this story about the steward, I did not hit anyone.
