After days of hard and stressful negotiations it seems like Chelsea and Monaco finally agreed on a transfer fee for Tiémoué Bakayoko.
The Blues have been waiting for over a fortnight to complete the Bakayoko deal because of a knee surgery the 22 year-old suffered at the end of last season. In the meantime Chelsea officials tried to take advantage of the situation and lower the price for the dynamic midfielder, but Monaco refused their first offer which was €40m.
Finally, Chelsea increased their bid to €45m plus add-ons and Bakayoko will complete his medical on Friday before officially being announced as a Blues player.
Bakayoko to Chelsea from Monaco almost done. £40m fee agreed. Medical soon. Likely to mean Matic is leaving

Despite the fact the player is still in rehab, Chelsea are confident Bakayoko won’t need another operation and that he’s fully capable to conduct the medical, but the medical department consider him to be at least six weeks from being in contention to feature for the first team.
Bakayoko will be the fourth player to leave Monaco this summer (Dirar, Germain, Silva) and the second one to join one of the Premier League’s giants. This 22-year-old capped 63 appearances for Monaco and scored three goals, while he also debuted for the French international team in the friendly game against Spain.
