Mateo Pellegrino is ready to become a new Fiorentina player. The Argentine forward has reached an agreement with the Viola club and the deal with Parma is now finalized: the transfer is expected to exceed 20 million euros, with the player due in Florence for his medicals and to sign the contract.
A Powerful Centre-Forward
Born in 2001, Pellegrino is a 1.92 meter tall left-footed central striker. His physique is one of his most obvious qualities, but his game is not limited to his presence in the box: he knows how to shield the ball, attack the space, and use his physicality to play with his back to goal.
Development at Parma
His Italian experience began in February 2025, when Parma signed him from Vélez Sarsfield. The 2025/26 season marked his real breakthrough: Pellegrino finished the campaign with 29 appearances and 10 goals in all competitions, adding one assist. In Serie A, he registered 27 appearances, 7 goals, and one assist, while in the Coppa Italia he scored three times in two matches.
A New Challenge
Fiorentina is therefore betting on a striker who is still relatively young, but already accustomed to Serie A. His arrival is part of the offensive department’s renewal and comes at the same time as the departure of Roberto Piccoli, who is headed to Bologna.
For Fiorentina, Pellegrino can provide a different option compared to the other strikers in the squad: height, aerial ability and physical strength, but also the capacity to help the team advance and involve his teammates. In Florence, he will take on a new responsibility: transforming his good season at Parma into confirmation at the highest level.
