Welcome to Round 37 of Sofascore’s Fantasy Premier League which is the penultimate round of the English top flight season.

In this round we will feature the very best players in their respective positions in terms of Fantasy points gained so far this season, culminating in a ‘cream of the crop’ XI for Round 37.

No expense has been spared in putting together our suggested starting XI for this round but this team represents the best chance of adding additional vital points to your overall score!

Round 37 begins on Friday night with Aston Villa playing host to Liverpool at Villa Park.

Formation: 3-5-2

David Raya  (ARSENAL v Burnley) – €7.0M

Arsenal took a giant step towards sealing this season’s Premier League title with what turned out to be a highly controversial 1-0 win away from home at West Ham last Sunday.

Nevertheless, The Gunners are almost over the line and goalkeeper David Raya contributed yet another clean sheet in the process, making it 18 clean sheets to date this term for the north London club.

The Spanish stopper sits top of the Goalkeepers in the Fantasy points table with 208 points to his name, an overall Sofascore rating of 6.90 as well as having kept 3 clean sheets in his previous 4 games against Burnley.

Gabriel (ARSENAL v Burnley) – €10.1M

Marc Guehi (Bournemouth v MANCHESTER CITY) – €8.8M

As Manchester City are involved in the FA Cup final against Chelsea this Saturday, The Citizens will not feature in this weekend’s Round 37 fixtures but instead will play Bournemouth next Tuesday night.

By then, Pep Guardiola’s side could be virtually ruled out of the title race but nevertheless Manchester City still deserve representation in our Sofascore XI for Round 37 and in particular, defender Marc Guehi who has racked up an impressive total of 244 Fantasy points to date.

James Tarkowski  (EVERTON v Sunderland) – €8.4M

Everton manager, David Moyes, has transformed what was previously a fragile Toffees defensive unit into a rock-solid one which has been underpinned this season by the likes of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and of course, James Tarkowski.

Indeed, Tarkowski is Everton’s highest-rated Sofascore defender with a score of 7.19 which has been helped by 2 goals and 3 assists this season, while amassing a total of 243 Fantasy points so far this season.

Tarkowski has provided 2 assists in his last 3 Premier League games and has achieved a Sofascore rating of 7.0 or over in 8 of the last 10 months.

Bruno Fernandes (MANCHESTER UTD v Nottm Forest) – €11.8M

Portuguese influential midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, must surely be amongst the forerunners in winning the PFA Player of the Season award in this season’s Premier League campaign as the midfield maestro has helped guide the Red Devils back into Champions League football for next season.

Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick, will also take some of the plaudits for the Red Devils’ resurgence but Fernandes has the numbers behind him to demand the best player of the Premier League campaign.

Bruno Guimarães (NEWCASTLE UTD v West Ham) – €9.0M

In what has been a wholly disappointing campaign for Newcastle United, the less the said the better where The Magpies have been concerned as Eddie Howe’s side occupy 13th place in the Premier League table ahead of hosting West Ham but Brazilian midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, has led the way for the north-east club.

Guimarães is on the cusp of joining the ‘200 club’ as he has racked up 199 Fantasy points so far this season and he not only leads the way in terms of Newcastle United’s Sofascore ratings with a score of 7.46, but also the goals and assists tallies as well.

9 goals along with 5 assists places Bruno Guimarães as one of the most productive midfielders in this season’s Premier League campaign.

Elliot Anderson (Manchester Utd v NOTTM FOREST) – €7.3M

Nottingham Forest breathed a huge sigh of relief after gaining a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at home with Newcastle United last weekend which confirmed Forest’s top flight status for another season.

Midfielder Elliot Anderson has been ever-present amongst the Tricky Trees ranks during a season-saving eight-game unbeaten sequence under manager Vitor Pereira which includes hitting the back of the net on 3 occasions.

Anderson also tops Nottingham Forest’s Sofascore player ratings with a score of 7.29, helped by 4 goals and 2 assists, and he’s also totted up a total of 199 Fantasy points so far this term as well.

James Garner (EVERTON v Sunderland) – €7.0M

Another young English midfielder making a name for himself is Everton’s James Garner who has been an integral part of Everton’s rebuilding and subsequent resurgence under manager David Moyes this season.

The Toffees sit in the relative luxury of a mid-table position in the Premier League table after previous nervous and nail-biting campaigns to avoid relegation, and Garner has been in the thick of the action.

An overall Sofascore rating of 7.22 underlines Garner’s consistency in the middle of the park along with chipping in with 2 goals and being The Toffees leading assist-producer with 7 to his name.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Aston Villa v LIVERPOOL) – €8.9M

Liverpool travel to the west midlands on Friday night to take on hosts Aston Villa with both teams looking to cement their place in next season’s Champions League with a result at Villa Park.

4th placed Liverpool have rallied in recent weeks under manager Arne Slot as The Reds have picked up three wins from their last five matches overall, and Hungarian midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai has produced 2 assists along with 1 goal during this recent period.

Szoboszlai has been the epitome of consistency for Liverpool in this season’s campaign as he has achieved a Sofascore rating of 7.0 or over in each of the last seven months, while also gaining 196 Fantasy points under his belt along with producing 6 goals and 5 assists.

Erling Haaland  (Bournemouth v MANCHESTER CITY) – €12.2M

It appears that not even the goalscoring exploits of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland will be enough for Manchester City to steal what now seems an inevitable Premier League title from their rivals, Arsenal, despite bagging a 26-goal haul so far this season.

Nevertheless, an overall Sofascore rating of 7.32 fuelled by 26 goals along with 8 assists makes Haaland an irresistible choice for our Sofascore XI for Round 37 in addition to being the absolute stand-out in the Forwards leaderboard with a staggering total of 235 points to his name.

Haaland has also scored 3 goals and 1 assist in seven previous appearances against Bournemouth.

Joao Pedro  (CHELSEA v Tottenham) – €8.0M

From what seemed like a promising situation back in February with Chelsea sitting in 4th place under manager Liam Rosenior to what has now become an absolute debacle with The Blues sitting in 9th spot, the only shining light in an otherwise forgettable campaign has been the goalscoring form of Brazilian forward, Joao Pedro.

Indeed, Pedro has notched a total of 15 goals for the London club with a better Sofascore goal conversion percentage than Haaland with 21.13%, while producing 5 assists as well as a Sofascore rating of 7.10.

In addition, Pedro sits second only to Erling Haaland in the Forwards Fantasy points table with a total of 175 points to his name – the Brazilian has also scored 3 goals and 1 assist in three previous meetings against Tottenham.
