Starting this season, Sofascore will introduce Running Performance – a new set of physical statistics available for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
This feature brings something our users have been asking for: clear data on how much players run, how fast they go, and how often they sprint.
What’s Included in Running Performance?
Running Performance will show three key stats for each player:
- Total distance covered (in kilometers)
- Top speed reached (in km/h)
- Number of sprints during the match
These metrics give fans a better view of a player’s physical contribution – something that doesn’t always show up in goals or assists.

Where Will It Be Available?
The feature will be available for all matches in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. These are two of the most followed competitions in the world, and on our platform, and now users will be able to track how much running is involved at the top level.
You’ll be able to see which midfielders cover the most ground, which attackers reach the highest speeds, and how hard players work over 90 minutes.

Why It Matters
Running stats are one of the most frequently requested metrics from our community. Whether you’re watching a high-pressing team or following a player known for their stamina, these numbers help explain the game in more detail.
Running Performance adds value for:
- Fans who want to understand player effort
- Coaches to prepare for matches more efficiently
- Analysts, and scouts tracking fitness and intensity
- Fantasy football users looking for new insights
And it’s not just for specialists, it makes the viewing experience better for everyone.

What Did We See Last Season?
Looking back at the 2024/25 Premier League season, players like Antonee Robinson, Anthony Gordon, and Daniel Muñoz stood out with some of the highest sprint counts. Dejan Kulusevski and Tomas Soucek were among those who covered the most ground per 90 minutes, and Micky van de Ven was one of the fastest out there, sprinting at over 37 km/h.
These examples give a preview of the kind of insights fans can now expect directly on Sofascore. Who will dominate these metrics this season? Time (and stats) will tell.

A Step Forward in Match Analysis
This update is part of our ongoing goal: making football analysis more complete and accessible. From technical skills to tactical roles and now physical performance, we want to offer a full picture of what happens on the pitch.
Running Performance is now part of that story.
