Sofascore at the Basketball Champions League Final Four

Sofascore was present at the Basketball Champions League Final Four, highlighting a partnership with one of European basketball’s most important competitions.
The Sofascore team spent several days at the BCL Final Four alongside key figures from FIBA, EuroLeague, EuroCup, ABA League, Nike, FC Barcelona and a number of former professional basketball players. Alongside the basketball on the court, the event served as a meeting point for everyone shaping the future of the sport on the continent.
From the platform to the arena
Sofascore’s presence at the Final Four was the first visible step of a newly established partnership with the Basketball Champions League — a FIBA competition. Under the agreement, Sofascore promotes BCL content within its platform, while BCL integrates Sofascore across its matches through in-arena activations.

The debut was deliberately focused: LED branding, Sofascore Rating displays, and Jumbotron integration throughout the tournament. For the 2026/27 season, the partnership expands with a wider range of activations planned across BCL matches.
A growing European network
The Final Four brought together the decision-makers of European basketball under one roof. Sofascore used the occasion to open conversations with several leagues and federations, with new partnerships now in place with BNXT League and Pallacanestro Varese. Representatives from the NBA were also present, as were senior figures from Nike Basketball’s European operation.

The timing is significant. The NBA and FIBA officially confirmed in December 2025 that the new NBA Europe league would offer clubs a merit-based qualifying pathway through the Basketball Champions League. BCL CEO Patrick Comninos confirmed this week that the open pathway runs both through the BCL and through an end-of-season qualifying tournament. Sofascore’s partnership with the BCL positions the platform within that ecosystem from the start.
“Being at the Final Four was an important step for us in becoming a bigger part of the European basketball ecosystem,” said Robert Bošnjak, B2B Team Lead at Sofascore.

One of BCL’s best finals
The championship match between Rytas Vilnius and AEK BC delivered everything a Final Four should. Rytas, the tournament’s outsider, scored just 25 points in the first half and looked well beaten. They stayed alive through the third quarter and then erupted for 35 in the fourth. Simonas Lukošius hit a three-pointer in the dying seconds to force overtime, where Rytas completed the comeback and claimed their first BCL title — and first European trophy since 2009.
Sofascore’s Rating and Jumbotron integration ran throughout the match, putting the platform in front of the fans who matter most.
