The latest feature is another step in positioning SofaScore as the primary source of football statistics for professionals and fans alike. Extensive player statistics is a feature that enables users to filter players based on dozens of statistics divided in five major categories: attack, defence, passing, goalkeeper & other.
Previously, SofaScore users would refer usually to iOS or Android app to gain insight into best performing players from certain leagues or clubs. The emphasis was on the best and users had no filtering options. With this feature users can filter players from more than 60 leagues and tournaments in ascending or descending order for any statistic.
How it works?
Let’s say you are a Premier League fan. You know who the main stars are, but you are interested in finding out who is also excelling or not doing so well. I.e. you want to know which player made the most final third passes. You would take the following steps: open Premier League details on SofaScore website, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see the “Player statistics” tab, open the passing category and select final third passes. Quite simple really. As it stands, David Silva (369), Kevin De Bruyne (330) and Cesc Fabregas (247) lead the standings in this category.
On the other hand, if you are interested to see which player has made the most errors that lead to shot you would simply filter by that defensive category. Currently Alfie Mawson (3), Shane Duffy (3) and Asmir Begovic (2) are the top three in this one.
There are dozens of filters you could use like position, age, nationality, market value, appearances and so on and so forth.
So whether you are a serious sports writer looking for a deeper insight, sports professional scouting players, fantasy manager searching for that differential or just a regular fan, detailed player statistics feature will prove to be an invaluable tool.
