Torneo by Sofascore – the newly renamed version of our tournament management tool, officially began its next chapter at the Sofascore Club NXT Cup U14 in Roeselare, Belgium. Over two days, 16 youth teams from 8 countries competed for glory, with every goal, lineup, and penalty brought to life through the Torneo by Sofascore platform.

The winner was Stoke City FC U14, who won it against West Ham United FC U14, in a dramatic final that ended 1-1 and was decided by penalties (4-3). England was clearly in the spotlight, with three English teams reaching the semifinals – Stoke, West Ham, and Queens Park Rangers. The host team, Club NXT (the youth academy of Club Brugge), made a strong run to the semis but were knocked out by West Ham.

This wasn’t just a tournament. It was a showcase of youth talent, international collaboration, and real-time football data – powered by Torneo by Sofascore.

“Torneo by Sofascore is a very important tool for us. It made managing our tournament a lot easier. Communication is key for us, especially when we’re running up to six tournaments at the same time. It also allowed international teams, their families, and fans to follow results easily.”

Home Advantage? And Fan Advantage

We were also proud to have a Sofascore team present on-site, connecting with players, coaches, and fans throughout the weekend. And to add a bit of extra competition off the pitch, we ran a special giveaway: the team with the most fans downloading the Sofascore app and following their club in the app would win exclusive Sofascore merch.

The winner – home based Club NXT – whose blue-and-black kits just so happen to perfectly match our Sofascore hoodies and socks. Call it a happy coincidence or just good taste in colors.

“We’re proud that the very first event under our new name – Torneo by Sofascore – celebrates youth, dedication, and international collaboration. Through Torneo, we’re not just supporting organizers behind the scenes, we’re giving players and clubs visibility on a global stage.”
