In Round 16 of this season’s Premier League campaign, we will be highlighting young and upcoming stars of this season’s top flight action to boost your Sofascore Fantasy Premier League team’s points haul.

Our recommended team for Round 16 is made up of players aged between 21 and 25 years old and all amongst some of the best scoring personnel in their respective positions in terms of Fantasy points to date in this Premier League campaign.

Saturday 3pm afternoon fixtures feature Chelsea taking on Everton while Liverpool play host to Brighton. 

Formation: 3-5-2

Robin Roefs  (Sunderland) – €5.1M

Dutch keeper, Robin Roefs, has been one of the catalysts behind Sunderland’s promising start to this season’s Premier League campaign as the north-east club currently sit in the top half of the top flight table in 9th place.

At just 22 years of age, Roefs has racked up a total of 87 Fantasy points so far this season between the sticks and his Sofascore average rating of 7.27 places the goalkeeper second only to club captain, Granit Xhaka, in Sunderland’s ratings charts.

Another strong performance is required this weekend though as Sunderland entertain fierce rivals Newcastle United at the Stadium of Light on Sunday afternoon.

Malo Gusto (Chelsea) – €6.1M

Chelsea play host to Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon and right-back Malo Gusto will be looking to contribute to another clean sheet in this weekend’s Premier League action after The Blues gained a point and a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw at Bournemouth last Saturday.

Chelsea have kept a total of seven clean sheets in their 15 matches played to date this term with 22 year-old Gusto playing his part in achieving these shut-outs, while also providing 1 goal and 1 assist so far this season on his way to a Sofascore rating of 6.75 along with a total of 67 Fantasy points so far.

Adrien Truffert  (Bournemouth) – €5.6M

Bournemouth continue to hold their own in the Premier League although The Cherries now find themselves situated in the lower half of the table in 13th place after failing to win any of their last six games overall in the domestic top flight.

24 year-old French defender, Adrien Truffert, has accumulated a total of 70 Fantasy points so far this season though and represents decent value for Round 16 with a Sofascore rating of 6.75 and an assist to his name which came against Fulham in a 3-1 win.

Trai Hume  (Sunderland) – €5.2M

23 year-old Trai Hume isn’t far behind Bournemouth’s Truffert as the Sunderland right-back has totted up a total of 66 points to date in this season’s Fantasy Premier League and both he and the club have benefitted from his output so far in this top flight campaign.

Hume has earned a Sofascore average rating of 6.76 to date this term and he has contributed an assist for the Black Cats which came during Sunderland’s 2-0 home win against Wolves back in mid-October.

Phil Foden (Manchester City) – €8.5M

The next player on our Sofascore Round 16 team sheet is a household name for both club and country and it’s amazing to think that Phil Foden is still only 25 years-old!

Foden needs very little introduction but the Manchester City midfielder has produced a total of 90 Fantasy points so far in this season’s Premier League campaign and sits second only to Arsenal’s Declan Rice in terms of English midfielders.

With a Sofascore rating of 7.32 along with chipping in with 2 goals and 1 assist, Foden looks a key addition to anyone’s Round 16 team sheet this weekend.

Elliot Anderson  (Nottm Forest) – €6.8M

Not far behind Phil Foden is Nottingham Forest’s 23 year-old midfielder, Elliot Anderson, who has collected a total of 85 points so far this term thanks to his dynamic performances in the middle of the park for the Tricky Trees.

These consistent performances have resulted in an impressive Sofascore rating of 7.25 (top of Forest’s ratings chart) as well as scoring 1 goal and contributing 1 assist to date.

Incidentally, Anderson has been on the winning side versus Tottenham on three previous occasions, scoring 1 goal.

Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth) – €8.8M

Arguably one of the best young attacking midfielders in this season’s Premier League campaign so far has been Bournemouth’s Ghanaian 25 year-old, Antoine Semenyo, who not only leads the goalscoring charts for The Cherries with 6 goals but is also-joint leading producer of assists with 3 to his name to date.

A Sofascore rating of 7.18 is therefore very well deserved and Semenyo has also notched 2 goals in his previous three appearances against Monday night’s opposition, Manchester United as well, thus making him an important addition to your Sofascore Fantasy side for Round 16. 

Semenyo looks likely to add to his Fantasy points tally of 79 this weekend.

Iliman Ndiaye  (Everton) – €7.0M

It’s perhaps no coincidence that Everton’s successful season along with midfielder Iliman Ndiaye’s personal success to date have gone hand-in-hand in this English top flight campaign as The Toffees occupy 7th place in the Premier League table, while Ndiaye is Everton’s joint-top goalscorer with 4 goals along with contributing 2 assists.

The 25 year-old Senegalese dynamic midfielder has racked up a total of 77 Fantasy points to date while possessing a Sofascore rating of 6.99, and he’ll be looking to add to his goal-tally away at Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

Yankuba Minteh  (Brighton) – €6.6M

Still only 21, Brighton’s young right-winger, Yankuba Minteh, has already represented Gambia in 19 internationals, scoring 7 goals to date while on the domestic front, Minteh has scored 1 goal and has also chipped in with the most assists for Brighton so far this season with 4 to his name.

With 71 Fantasy points under his belt already along with a Sofascore rating of 6.87, Minteh will be keen to exploit any weaknesses in Saturday’s upcoming hosts, Liverpool, when The Seagulls travel to merseyside at Anfield.

Minteh is the youngest of our crop of recommended stars for Round 16.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – €9.9M

England forward, Bukayo Saka, has produced a relatively quiet campaign for The Gunners so far this season by his lofty standards but the 24 year-old has still chipped in with 2 goals and 1 assist for the north London club who currently sit top of the Premier League table.

With rock-bottom outfit of Wolves visiting the Emirates Stadium this Saturday evening though, Saka is expected to explode out of the traps as he has scored 4 goals and 1 assist in 11 previous appearances against the west midlands club, and he looks a nailed-on certainty to add to his impressive 75-point Fantasy haul this weekend.

Dango Ouattara  (Brentford) – €7.4M

Brentford’s 23 year-old forward, Dango Ouattara, rounds off our suggested Sofascore XI for Round 16 as the Burkina Faso attacker not only looks to add to his goal-tally of 3 goals but also his personal Fantasy 52-point haul on Sunday afternoon when The Bees entertain Leeds United at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Ouattara possesses a Sofascore rating of 6.80 but we can expect his rating to rise up into the 7.0’s against a poor-travelling Leeds United outfit this weekend.
