What the numbers say
Arsenal had more of the ball and territory but not the scoreline. Possession finished 53-47 to the hosts, who also led shots 15-8 and corners 10-1. xG backed up the pressure too, at 2.41-1.20 in Arsenal’s favor.
But Bournemouth’s finishing was cleaner. They scored both of their big chances, while Arsenal converted one of four and missed three big ones. The visitors won 58% of their aerial duels and cleared their lines 27 times, with 46 recoveries helping them ride out the late push. Shots on target ended level at 3-3.
Standout performers
– Alex Scott was the match-winner and Bournemouth’s top performer with a Sofascore Rating of 8.1. He added two shots, eight recoveries and kept the midfield ticking at 40/44 accurate passes.
– James Hill impressed at the back (Sofascore Rating 7.3), posting eight clearances and three tackles as Bournemouth held firm.
– For Arsenal, Declan Rice drove the performance with a Sofascore Rating of 7.7, two key passes and four shots.
– Gyökeres scored from the spot and worked the line, but his Sofascore Rating of 6.6 reflected a mixed day that also included a late booking.

Lineups, subs and game flow
Both sides set up in a 4-2-3-1. Mikel Arteta turned to Leandro Trossard, Max Dowman and Eberechi Eze on 54 minutes to chase the game, later adding Gabriel Jesus and Cristhian Mosquera. Andoni Iraola introduced Tyler Adams and David Brooks on 70 minutes and managed the finish with Alex Tóth, Enes Ünal and Adam Smith.
Referee Michael Oliver oversaw a committed contest with 30 total fouls and four yellows. Arsenal’s late pressure produced territory and corners, but Bournemouth’s structure and clearances closed it out.
What it means
A clinical away display gives Bournemouth a notable Premier League win at the Emirates. Arsenal controlled much of the shot volume and xG, yet Bournemouth made the decisive moments count.
