As the new NBA season kicks off, there’s no better way to gear up for all the emotions than by diving into the inspiring journey of one of Europe’s greatest basketball legends. Croatian center Dino Rađa, known for his dedication and perseverance, carved his path to NBA stardom, earning his place among the sport’s elite.
With a career decorated by Olympic, World, and European Championship medals, two EuroLeague titles, and unforgettable seasons with teams like Jugoplastika Split, Virtus Roma, Boston Celtics, Panathinaikos, Olympiacos, and Cibona, Rađa’s story is nothing short of remarkable. His achievements on the court culminated in his induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018, an honor fitting for a player of his stature.
All of these defining moments are captured in his sports documentary, simply titled Radja.

Four years after its initial release, Rađa has decided to make his documentary available to fans for free. He explains:
“After the premieres in Croatian cinemas, I kept getting questions about where people could watch the movie. It became clear to me that the right thing to do was to offer it for free on Vimeo, so all fans could see it. This documentary is about hard work and dedication—the two things that can push anyone to great heights. It’s for all the young people out there who need extra motivation. If you want to make it from Split to the Hall of Fame, there are no excuses!”

Fans can now enjoy Radja for free on the Sofascore Vimeo channel.
Why Sofascore?
Like Dino Rađa, Sofascore is another global success story that started small in Croatia. Ivan Bešlić, Sofascore’s Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, shared the connection:
“We started 14 years ago as a small website for sports results while we were still in college. From the beginning, we knew we wanted to be a global player, and the only way to get there was through complete dedication. Just like Dino, we reinvested every bit of our early profits into perfecting and growing our platform. Today, Sofascore is used by 28 million sports fans every month across the globe, and we’re proud to share this journey with Dino.”
Ivan Bešlić, co-founder of Sofascore

Vojan Koceić from Pilot Studio, the film’s director and the mind behind the project, recalls how the documentary came to life:
“Dino and I were watching another documentary when I suggested we make a film about him. He laughed it off, saying he didn’t think anyone would watch it—he’s very modest like that. But thanks to some convincing from friends, we made it happen, and I’m glad we did. Dino’s story is inspirational, especially for young basketball players, showing that anything is possible if you work hard and stay focused.”

From Split to Boston, and ultimately to the Basketball Hall of Fame, Dino Rađa’s story is one that truly deserves to be told—and now, it’s available to all.
