Key Match Summaries

Real Madrid had to grind hard for a 1-0 victory away at Getafe. The hosts defended bravely despite being reduced to nine men. David Soria made nine saves to frustrate Los Blancos, but Mbappé eventually broke through with an 80th-minute winner, sealing three points.

Barcelona needed similar late heroics to overcome Girona 2-1 at Camp Nou. Pedri opened the scoring early before Girona equalized through Axel Witsel. Barcelona’s determination and hard work got rewarded in the very last seconds of the game, as Ronald Araújo‘s header brought back their winning flow. 

Mallorca silenced the Sánchez-Pizjuán with a magnificent 3-1 comeback against Sevilla. After falling behind in the first half to Ruben Vargas’ strike, Mallorca rallied with an equalizer from Vedat Muriqi and two rapid goals between the 72nd and 77th minute. The turnaround not only silenced the Sanchez Pizjuán but also breathed new life into Mallorca’s season.

Villarreal and Real Betis shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Villarreal took the lead through Tajon Buchanan just before halftime, and Alberto Moleiro doubled their tally after the break. But Real Betis refused to quit and struck twice in the second half, including a last-gasp equalizer in injury time.

Atlético Madrid returned to winning ways, edging Osasuna 1-0 in a tense encounter. Substitute Thiago Almada’s 69th-minute strike made the difference, while Marcos Llorente was immense in defense. Mallorca’s Mateo Joseph (8.5) was the super-sub of the round, scoring twice in five minutes to flip the game against Sevilla. Antony (9.4) of Real Betis also deserves mention for his two-goal rescue act against Villarreal. At Rayo Vallecano, Jorge de Frutos (8.7) stole the show with a brace that secured a dominant victory.
